Geometric Parquet Floor Restoration near Berwick-upon-Tweed

Project Overview
This project near Berwick-upon-Tweed involved the restoration of an existing geometric parquet floor featuring an intricate repeating pattern and contrasting timber details.
Years of wear had left the original finish heavily scratched and tired, detracting from the distinctive design of the flooring.
The restoration was undertaken to bring the floor back to life while preserving the original geometric pattern and character of the timber.

Restoring the Geometric Parquet
The existing parquet flooring was carefully sanded to remove the deteriorated surface finish and prepare the timber for refinishing.
Particular attention was given to preserving the character of the original floor, with its intricate geometric pattern and contrasting timber details.
The restoration brought the individual blocks and decorative design back into focus, transforming the appearance of the room while retaining the original flooring.

Completed Restoration
Following sanding and preparation, the geometric parquet flooring was finished with a two-component (2K) natural oil.
The completed restoration reveals the rich colours and contrasting grain of the original timber, bringing renewed definition to the intricate geometric pattern.
The result is a fully restored parquet floor that retains its original character while transforming the appearance of the room.
