Junckers Sprung Floor Installation at Holy Trinity with St Mark

Project Overview
We had previously restored the original timber floor at Holy Trinity with St Mark in Stockton-on-Tees. Following a subsequent flood, the existing floor was damaged beyond recovery and required complete replacement.
M Young Flooring was asked to return to supply and install a new Junckers sprung timber floor across approximately 250 m² of the main hall.
The replacement floor was installed over a sprung batten system using adjustable cradles, creating a level supporting structure before the new solid timber flooring was laid across the space.

Moisture Protection & Sprung Subfloor
Before the new flooring system was installed, a Junckers SylvaThene moisture barrier was laid across the prepared subfloor.
The sprung subfloor was then constructed above the membrane using adjustable cradles and timber battens. The system was carefully set out and levelled across the approximately 250 m² hall, creating the supporting structure for the new Junckers timber floor.

Installing the Junckers Flooring
Once the sprung subfloor had been set out and levelled, installation of the new Junckers solid timber flooring could begin.
The boards were installed progressively across the approximately 250 m² hall over the cradle and batten system, creating a completely new timber floor to replace the original floor that had been lost following the flood.

Completed Floor
The completed installation reinstated a full timber floor across the approximately 250 m² main hall following the flood damage that had destroyed the previous flooring.
The new Junckers floor provides a clean, consistent finish across the space while retaining the warmth and appearance of a natural timber floor within the building.
