St Bede’s Church Hall Floor Restoration, Blyth

Project Overview
This project involved the restoration of the existing softwood floor within St Bede’s Church Hall in Blyth.
The floor had become heavily worn through years of use, with the surface looking tired and uneven across the main hall. Rather than replacing the existing timber, the boards were restored to bring the floor back into service while retaining the character of the original softwood.

The Restoration
The existing softwood floor was professionally sanded to remove the worn surface and bring the timber back to a clean, consistent condition across the hall.
The floor was then refinished throughout to provide a durable surface suitable for continued use, while retaining the natural grain, knots and variation within the original boards.
Finished Floor
The completed floor has a much cleaner and more consistent appearance across the main hall while retaining the natural character of the original softwood.
The restored surface is now better suited to regular use, with the grain, knots and variation within the boards still clearly visible.
